St.Helen, Colne was once the village's main church, but was badly damaged by a tower collapse in 1895. As a result, a new church was constructed closer to the centre of the village using stones from the old church. All that now remains is the porch from the old church, left sitting slightly awkwardly in the middle of the old graveyard.
